About the Film

Following the 2019 Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi, the largest humanitarian sporting event held for the first time in the MENA region, there has been a collective effort to ensure its legacy and impact will resonate for generations to come.

‘DetermiNATION: A Year On’ highlights Abu Dhabi’s progress in supporting People of Determination, featuring inspiring individuals and the milestones achieved in breaking down barriers to help them reach their full potential.

The mini-documentary comes after 2019’s ‘DetermiNATION’  film, aiming to shine a light on the legacy of the Games and how perceptions have changed. Building on Abu Dhabi’s endeavors towards a more inclusive and diverse society, the film also features key decision makers who have been working towards policies and initiatives that empower People of Determination in the community.

DetermiNATION and DetermiNATION: A Year On are produced by Mubadala Investment Company, who was an official sponsor of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.
